Day 26: Rest Day #4 - River Bend Resort (near Leakey)

As we thought, internet availability is limited to the resort's WiFi and it's accessible range, which is better than I remember.  I am sitting in the courtyard fifty yards from the office.  Others are huddled on a bench outside the office door.

What to do when you have 24 hours and there are no miles to pedal?  How does one survive without a food stop every two hours?  What does one do when the last 25 days have been scheduled for you?

No riding today.
Sleep in. Late breakfast.

Bike maintenance.
Search for internet connection.
Charge electronic devices.
Walk along the river.
Talk with some fellow riders we haven't had much chance to get to know better.
Sit a spell and listen to the water flowing.
Wait for lunch.
Refuel our bodies.
Solve the world's problems with fellow Coasters.
Rest tired legs.
Repack suitcase and re-familiarize the contents.
Gave myself a haircut.
Recharge our personal batteries.
Listening to some fiddlin'.

Miles Pedaled: 0  Calories Consumed: > 4000
Huge Breakfast: eggs, sausage, cinnamon rolls, coffee cake, fresh fruit, corned beef hash, pancakes, bagels
Lunch: chicken noodle soup, sandwiches, salads, and cookies
Dinner: pizza, cheese ravioli, pork ragu, garlic bread, salad, and cake

One of our friends, who is also doing fundraising, received a care package from her charity, Humane Society of Missouri.  She unselfishly shared the contents, cookies, chocolate, and t-shirts, with all of us.

Cooper - Autism Service Dog
Today is day 26 of our adventure; only 26 days to go.

It is a good day to remember why we are riding. Custom Canines Service Dog Academy raises and trains dogs to provide assistance to those in need. They are placed free of charge to clients, and therefore we rely on your contributions and dedicated volunteers. Please make a donation to: Custom Canines
